The client was looking for an elegant complementary program for their usual end-of-year meeting, which would not try too hard to close and celebrate the year, but would be a simple yet enjoyable element of the event. The two-day meeting began with a business program. An important criterion was that time should not be wasted on transfers, yet there should still be opportunities to get out of the hotel.
Solution
Our year-end meeting started with a morning session, where most of the team joined online in addition to those present on site – so almost everyone could close the year together, no matter where they worked from. We believe that shared experiences really set the mood for events, so we organized a special program for the end-of-year occasion.
The evening unfolded elegantly yet naturally: we dressed up, toasted with a glass of champagne at the bar, and then walked across to the Opera House to see The Nutcracker. Accommodation & Event venue
W's first hotel in Budapest opened in 2023 in the iconic Drechsler Palace, one of the most prestigious locations on Andrássy Avenue. The design evokes both the rich history of the building and Hungarian cultural heritage: the bar not only overlooks the grandiose Opera House, but its interior design also echoes its motifs. Functionality is, of course, also key for a business meeting. We chose the hotel's largest meeting room, which comfortably accommodated coffee breaks and left enough space for discussions. We supplemented the technology so that the meeting could also function in a hybrid format, allowing team members connecting remotely to join in seamlessly.
Program
Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker is one of those rare performances that you can never tire of, making it the ideal choice for a diverse group of people. Upon arrival at the Opera House, guests were greeted by a private cloakroom, and during the intermission, we served champagne and snacks so that they could spend their time chatting on the terrace or in the impressive halls of the building instead of standing in an uncomfortable line.
