From a cave to the beach through a haunted mansion

Brief

The managers of a private clinic in Budapest wanted to surprise the whole team with a grand holiday together, preferably by the sea. They wanted to go to a premium hotel that would also be the perfect venue for evening parties. The participants on the trip were a range of men and women of varying ages, so the challenge was to organise a programme that would be an exciting experience for the whole team.

Solution

Although we rarely organise coach trips, we saw it as an exciting challenge to deliver a shorter programme of the usual high quality at a nearby location. Postojna is a lesser-known destination in Slovenia, a few hours’ drive from Budapest, and full of interesting possibilities.

We explored the Postojna stalactite cave by a private cave carriage, the only karst cave with a railway line. A surprise jazz concert made our programme even more colourful in the cave with its spectacular and unique acoustics. We went on a night tour of Predjama, famous for its haunted castle, the largest castle carved into a mountain in the world. The beach is also just 40 minutes away, where we spent our second day. After SUPing, swimming and enjoying a coffee by the beach, we returned to Postojna where the hotel bar was set up for a private party for the group.
